Learn about some of our periodontal and dentistry procedures below.
Dental Implants - Implants simulate nature tooth roots and serve as an artificial base for prosthetic teeth. Modern dental implants fuse with the jawbone, not only providing permanently secure prosthetics, but also helping to restructure facial bones and preserve their natural strength and appearance. Dr. Rose has been successfully installing dental implants since 1986 and is one of the top experts in the Greater Washington area.
Laser gum treatment (LANAP) - We use state of the art laser technology to treat gum disease that selectively target diseased gum tissue, removing it while leaving healthy tissue untouched. Not only that, but the laser also destroys the harmful bacteria that caused the gum disease in the first place and facilitates blood clotting and tissue regeneration. This, combined with the decreased tissue damage, greatly speeds healing and reduces the pain of gum disease treatment. In addition to LANAP, we offer other laser treatments to minimize the amount of complicated, painful surgery our patients must endure.
Teeth in a Day - One of the most revolutionary treatments we offer you is Teeth in a Day, where we can install up to a full set of dental implants in a single visit. This usually means placing a dental implant and, at the same appointment, providing a temporary (acrylic) crown or bridge that is attached to the implant(s). The plastic crown or bridge is replaced by a more durable, final crown at a later date. This modern process drastically cuts down on not only treatment time but healing time as well.
Gum Grafting - Receding gums cause a host of pains: weakened and vulnerable teeth, oversensitivity to temperature and other foods, and an unsightly smile. At Periodontal & Implant Associates of Greater Washington, we offer gum grafting to replace and rebuild damaged tissue and bone to restore your teeth to their optimal condition.
Non-surgical Periodontal Services – Surgery is painful and hard on the patient, and so we try to avoid it wherever possible. We excel at various non-surgical periodontal treatments for conditions like periodontal disease and receding gums.
Maxillofacial Reconstruction - "Maxillofacial" refers to the bone structure of the jaw and face. This is sometimes needed in cases of severe oral disease, cancer, serious head or neck injury, or a birth defect, bone reconstruction restores the shape, function and appearance of a healthy jaw and face. Dr. Rose is an expert at maxillofacial reconstructive surgery. He and his team will work with the utmost care to restore or improve your natural facial structure and make you as comfortable as possible.
Cone Beam Computerized Tomography - CBCT for short, this refers to a specialized CAT scan. Unlike larger medical CT scanners, CBCT images only the area of the body from the jaw to just below the eyes. CBCT scanners are much more useful for dentistry, as they are quick and easy to use, and expose the patient to much less radiation. Unlike normal X-rays, CBCT scans show the jaw area in three full dimensions, allowing a much more thorough analysis. Learn more about cone beam computerized tomography.
Adult Orthodontics - Despite our usual association of braces with adolescents, these days adults make up over a quarter of all orthodontic patients. Straight, aligned teeth are an important component of an attractive, confident smile. Even more importantly, misaligned teeth can lead to problems with gum disease and jaw pain down the road. At Periodontal & Implant Associates of Greater Washington we offer a variety of adult orthodontic solutions, including clear and invisible braces to meet your specific needs.
