Dental Implants

Dr. Rose is a certified periodontist who has received extensive training in the placement of dental implants. Dental implants, which are false teeth that are surgically implanted into your jaw tissue, offer an incredibly stable bite surface. In fact, because dental implants are anchored with titanium posts that fuse to your natural bone tissue, implants can help to ward off bone loss, strengthen your periodontal arch, and protect the surrounding teeth.

Before dental implants can be placed, Dr. Rose will carefully evaluate the health of your smile. Some patients need prerequisite procedures such as bone grafting or treatment for periodontal disease, since damaged bone or ongoing gum disease can affect the outcome of your dental implant placement. Dr Rose has extensive training in the field of implant dentistry, and have placed dental implants since 1986. In addition to having a deep understanding of the mechanisms, varieties, and placement of dental implants, Dr. Rose is innately familiar with the potential complications of the procedure, and will watch your smile closely to check for any problems. Careful pre-planning and advanced imagery techniques have helped Dr. Rose to eliminate risk factors for patients, which is why their dental implant surgical success rate hovers around 100%.

Periodontal Services

At Periodontal & Implant Associates of Greater Washington, Dr. Rose also specializes in periodontal disease treatment. Focusing on conservative periodontal therapy, Dr. Rose will start by evaluating the condition of your teeth and gums, working with each patient to develop a completely customized treatment plan. In addition to focusing on at-home care and lifestyle changes, Dr. Rose monitors your condition carefully to make sure that you are healing properly. Here are just a few of the periodontal procedures offered by Periodontal & Implant Associates of Greater Washington.

Periodontal Procedures Offered

Non-Surgical Treatment

As periodontists who focus on taking a conservative approach to save patients time and money, Dr. Rose may recommend non-surgical procedures to treat early gum disease or periodontal disease. Deep dental cleanings, at-home antimicrobial mouthwashes, or simple changes to your daily dental hygiene regimen can significantly improve the health of your teeth and gums.

Scaling and Root Planing

If non-surgical treatments aren’t effective, the doctors may recommend scaling and root planing. During this procedure, the gums are gently lifted away from the teeth to expose the underlying tooth surfaces and gingival pockets. This area is thoroughly sanitized and debrided, and the surfaces of the teeth are cleaned to remove plaque and tartar accumulations. The goal of scaling and planing is to create an environment where the gums can heal.

LANAP

For moderate to advanced cases of periodontal disease, LANAP, or Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure, may be recommended. During LANAP, a special dental laser fitted with a periodontal probe is inserted into the space between the teeth and gums. By moving the laser around the teeth, Dr. Rose can quickly zap away bacteria and dead tissue, improving the health of the teeth and gums.

Dental Restorations

Ongoing gum disease can ravage your smile, but Periodontal & Implant Associates of Greater Washington are there to help. In addition to offering in-depth procedures to remove ongoing disease, they also offer a wide range of restorative dental procedures, including crowns, veneers, dental bonding and dental implants to perfect your smile.
